Q&B Heritage Contracting provides professional painting and contracting services on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Our services include interior and exterior painting, deck staining, pressure washing, minor repairs, and related contracting work. 3. Estimate Disclaimer
Estimates are non-binding and for informational purposes only.
- Estimates provided through our website contact form, email, phone, or in-person consultations are approximate and subject to change based on site inspection, material costs, and project scope refinement.
- An estimate does not constitute a contract or binding agreement. Services are only confirmed once a written service agreement is signed by both parties.
- We reserve the right to refuse service or decline to provide a binding quote for any project at our discretion.
- Final pricing may differ from initial estimates if additional work, materials, or unforeseen conditions are discovered during the project. Any changes to pricing or scope will be communicated and require your approval before proceeding.
- Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date provided, after which material costs and availability may require revision.
4. Warranty Terms
Q&B Heritage Contracting offers a 1-year workmanship warranty on all completed projects, subject to the following terms and conditions:
4.1 What Is Covered
- Defects in workmanship, including peeling, blistering, or improper adhesion caused by application errors
- Defects in surface preparation that result in coating failure
- Issues arising from our failure to follow manufacturer specifications for paint or stain products
4.2 What Is Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear, fading, or weathering due to environmental exposure
- Damage caused by the client, third parties, acts of nature, or accidents (e.g., storms, vandalism, impact damage)
- Failure of materials or products due to manufacturer defects (these are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we will assist you in pursuing)
- Issues arising from structural defects, moisture intrusion, wood rot, or other pre-existing conditions not caused by our work
- Surfaces not properly maintained according to manufacturer recommendations (e.g., failure to clean, re-caulk, or perform recommended maintenance)
- Changes in substrate or building materials after project completion
- Color fading or chalking within industry-standard tolerances for the product used
4.3 Warranty Claims Process
To make a warranty claim:
- Contact us in writing (email or mail) within the 1-year warranty period
- Provide photos and a description of the issue
- We will inspect the issue within 14 business days of notification
- If the issue is determined to be covered under warranty, we will repair or re-paint the affected area at no charge
- Our decision regarding warranty coverage is final
4.4 Warranty Limitations
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original client. The warranty is void if payment has not been received in full for the original work. This warranty constitutes our sole liability for defects in workmanship, and we are not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
5. Photo Usage Consent for Portfolio
With your explicit consent, Q&B Heritage Contracting may photograph completed projects for use in our portfolio, website, marketing materials, and social media.
- Photo consent is entirely voluntary and will be requested in writing before or after project completion
- You may decline photo consent without any impact on service quality, pricing, or warranty coverage
- If you consent to photos, we will not include any personal information, identifiable features (such as house numbers or street signs), or details that could reveal your specific address
- You may revoke photo consent at any time by contacting us in writing, and we will remove the photos from future use (existing published materials may remain in circulation)
- All photos remain the property of Q&B Heritage Contracting once consent is given
6. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be specified in your individual service agreement. Typically:
- A deposit may be required before work begins, typically 25-50% of the total project cost
- Final payment is due upon project completion and client approval
- We accept payment by e-transfer, cheque, or cash
- Overdue payments may incur interest charges as permitted by law
- The warranty is void if payment is not received in full
7. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule services subject to the following:
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before the scheduled start date will receive a full refund of any deposit paid
- Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled start date may forfeit up to 50% of the deposit to cover scheduling and preparation costs
- Once work has begun, cancellations will be charged for all work completed plus materials purchased
- Weather-related rescheduling initiated by Q&B Heritage Contracting will not affect pricing or deposits
8. Liability and Indemnification
Q&B Heritage Contracting carries liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage for all employees and subcontractors. Our liability is limited as follows:
- We are responsible for damage to your property directly caused by our negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care
- We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, structural defects, or hidden defects discovered during work
- Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for the specific project in question
- We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages (e.g., loss of use, lost profits, temporary accommodation costs)
- Clients are responsible for moving or protecting personal property, furniture, and valuables. We will take reasonable care but are not responsible for damage to unsecured items.
9. Website Use
By using the Q&B Heritage Contracting website, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information in contact forms and communications
- Not use the website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or interfere with website functionality
